I’m a little jealous (a lot really). I see the Common Cor as a chance for a reboot. Shed off the pains of NCLB and move forward with something new and different.

My district is looking for more of the top down approach. A close knit literacy department that is working on curriculum with no input from the classroom teacher.

It is more than a little disappointing. I really hope that your PLC goes well – it sounds like a great opportunity.

I love the way you use metaphor. I think we’re in the same band on this one. I’ve been critical at times. I’ll admit that. But I’m not scared of the Common Core. There’s a lot of good in it. And we can always improvise and if I need to toss in some syncopation with my own quirky beats, I’ll do it.
